Ready, set, here we go!

hey hey hey! so, the main reason i started this blog was to share all the random happenings that happen to happen to me with the world. (k, that's a lie, it's mainly just to share all those happenings with my family.)  well we'll start with this story (mainly because it's the only one i can think of right now) which may or may not be funny to you because a) you don't have the visual and b) you might not really know about my work.  so let me fill you in. i work at the BYUBookstore Pack&Ship. what do i do there? i pack and ship things.  (bet you wouldn't have guessed that ;) ) we're pretty much like a post office except better because we ship USPS, FEDEX, UPS, and DHL all at one place, so we can price shop for you, tell you all your options, and let you know the best/cheapest/fastest/whatever-your-fancy-is-est way to send something somewhere. well once upon a time i was working the closing shift so i was the only one there, and a guy came in wanting to send something FEDEX.  the forms we use for fedex have a spot for the sender's address, the recipients address, a large area in the middle for the customers to list what they're sending and how much it is worth (we only really use the information for int'l packages or if the package needs to be insured), and a spot in the upper right corner where we put the date and our name so we know who shipped what package. this guh had the form already all filled out so i typed it in and processed the package  pretty quick. while the FEDEX label was printing out for it i started putting the date and my name in the upper right corner of the paperwork. i had the l-a-r of my name written when the guy asked me if we had any fragile stickers. i looked up and stopped writing (so i thought) and told him "we don't have stickers, but we have a fragile stamp and i can stamp it up for you." he said "thank-you", but he wasn't really looking at me he was looking past my, so i just assumed he was fascinated with our 'peanut machine' that was right behind me because everyone seems to be fascinated by that. so i went back to the paper work to finish writing my name, and that's when i realized i had finished it without even realizing it, only i spelled it Larile (the L-a-r from larissa and the i-l-e from fragile) which i found quite amusing. (ha, it was late okay?) so i laughed about it and turned the paper towards the guy to show him what i had just done. that's when i noticed what he was sending...used braille equipment.  this guy wasn't looking past me, he wasn't looking at all, he was blind! so he couldn't see that paper at all and therefore had no idea why i randomly busted out laughing. i didn't know what to do, so i just stifled my laughter, put on a straight face, then looked at him and said "would that be all for you today?" ~Oh, my life.
